Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay (aka Singapore’s most famous durian) turns 20 in 2022! Like the fruit, our distinctive domes or “shells” have had their equal share of praise and criticism. But whether you love or hate our spikey roof, we cherish the journey you’ve taken with us in the last 20 years and look forward to sharing more memories with you in the years ahead.

In celebration of our 20th anniversary in 2022, we hope you will join us in bearing more “fruits” in the arts.

Continue to keep over 70% of our programmes free, so that the inspiring and uplifting powers of the arts remain within everyone’s reach at #mydurian.

Bring the arts to people of different backgrounds and abilities, at the centre, beyond the centre and online.

Make Esplanade a welcoming space for differently-abled individuals to experience the joy of the arts.

Claim your piece of our well-loved exterior, help the arts bear more fruit

Join us by adopting one of the 7,139 sunshades, claddings or “spikes” that have earned us our “durian” nickname! A donation allows you to virtually personalise one of these “spikes”. You can choose to upload an image of your own and make a dedication or wish. Or gather your friends, colleagues, or family to collectively personalise several of these “spikes”.

Esplanade is a charity and not-for-profit organisation. Your donation helps us continue being an arts centre for everyone in these challenging times, while supporting our efforts to grow new fruits in the arts for our future!
